Frankreich – Gourneyras in Juni 2009

Participants:

Roland Kring, Robin Sporrer, Tim Löffler, Oli Kurtz, Peter Gärtner, Manu Schoch, Marc Große, Tobi Ziegler, Tibor Czuppon

Guests: Manuel Fiore, Christian Pinne, Fred Petzinger

Again we verschlug to Gourneyras: After last year we have ever been and because of the vicinity of the cave and were excited, we packed up our gear and drove to the south of France. But this time we came better prepared, had our camping gear and optimizes the Master Plan in the bag ...

The River: Vis

The aim of the project was firstly a visit to the end of the leash EKPP and, where appropriate, to continue to seek and a few other "Frischlinge" introduce into the cave diving: We had Manuel and Christian Fiore tiller invited along. Both are experienced and can Trimixtaucher the necessary equipment free of stress act, but in a cave sometimes sees things differently. For the first experience is the ideal Gourneyras: Sufficiently large dimensions, in the entrance area good line situation and you see the input during the first 70m. And who Raustauchen when the light is not contrary to the cave fever grabs for cave diving is just nothing.

nice view

But both came to their costs: a first impression when habitat use in flat area, then in a second dive of the landfill Dekoflaschen of Roland & Robin. As a delicacy, there were a "real" cave dive: It went down to 50m and then both accounts once look around the corner. Since we do not cave diving for a purely fun event hold, there was extensive and de-briefings and support during the dives. So much to say: Both have made your case well and were able to feel in a cave dive, accustomed. But it was also clear that for the cave diving requires more than a quick bleaching among friends. Fred, we can convince his photo equipment to take with. Finally, we wanted to this time also underwater pictures with home.

Already a check of the pool promised good conditions. After Checkdive was clear: The project could be followed through if the weather conditions would remain stable in the run-up it had rained, and some thunderstorms where. Would such a storm over the catchment area go down, the conditions could quickly collapse. The visibility was about 10m, which is not bad but the lower limit represents. However, we were optimistic that conditions would improve further. The funicular was built quickly and we had steel legs prepared to Seilverlauf optimize. Equipment for 12 divers - that is a whole lot! And everything had to be invited to the cable car, drained, unloaded and sorted. Everything in the pool, was similar to water and was left there in bundles per diver summarized.

Now comes the thick double-RB-off fram

On the first dive day was set and the habitat Dekogase landfilled. Moreover, the condition of the rope into 3 teams staggered reviewed. Where appropriate, they should be patched immediately. First Tobi and Tibor are open to the shaft gescootert. This was followed by Peter Manu, and, in addition to the field of 100m verified.

Manu and Peter sorting bottles at the front of your TG

Tim and Marc had it before reaching the 80m turn grouper: A clear agreement on our team is that safety has absolute priority - it is the golden rule of cave diving. Since the line but in excellent condition was, we had no worries that Roland Robins dive and could rise.

If we can be one, then the fire, and crickets :-)

Like every night, we threw on the grill, and spoke again to the process and the details of the next day by. The next day was by Roland Robins & Pushdive coined. Depending on your schedule, in defined time intervals sent teams into the water to see whether they are already on the Dekostufen arrived, it lacked something to them, giving them equipment and you could fall into and out of habi could help. In the mean time was 3 hours for the cable car to the top angeworfen and achieved what no longer was needed. As the darkness hereinbrach, we threw our camping stove and made us something to eat. When Peter and the empty Tibor Reel with highly expressed, it was clear that there must have been worth it! But even beaten a few hours before decorating personal report of the two. When they finally do appear, most tension of a large team: Everything had gone well and was still a success! Obviously, the more celebrated around the campfire ...

Push Dive: Roland and Robin at the sink

The next morning brought a lot of work with the remaining equipment wanted upwards and transported into the respective cars are loaded. Since we are so but enough to tell, were only the poor, but never the time. Since all were broken and the next morning to return home applies wanted, went to bed early. The stunning conclusion of the project formed the Putzaktion - finally, we wanted nothing more than exhaled Trimix leave. ? To summarize the six days were an exhausting time, but also a time full of impressions. The team has grown closer together and has also developed diving again. Let's see what action this year we can report even more!

Report Team1

Deepsupport Tobias Ziegler, Tibor Czuppon

After the day before all the necessary preparations have been made was for the morning of Thursday between the 3 Deep-support teams, a timetable has been set as follows. Team 1 (T. Ziegler and T. Czuppon) diving to deep shaft penetration at approximately 900m to the line and the visibility in the cave to check. Discussed was a starting time clock at 9 AM. This was with 20 minute delays are nearly.

Tibor and equip at Tobi

Team 1, both with 3 Open Circuit Bottommix Stages (TMX 15/55), 3 Dekogasen (35/35, 50/25 and O2) were each with Scooter Scooter and backup equipment, appeared on the TMX 35/35 and deposited the oxygen to 6m in the pool. When further descent in the shaft were 50/25 on the 21m line on the computer and on a 36m gas to the TMX 15/55 and 35/35, the TMX verräumte Stage placed on a leash. The reason was at the foot of the shaft taken at minutes 12 and we followed the same course scooternd the cave. For any line breaks, two reels, each with 120m line has been taken, but due to the rugged French clothesline on the first kilometer of the cave is misplaced, not used. The cave was up to 2 short passages gigantic course profiles with widths and heights of some more than 10-12m, which is a complete lighting and to not be made. The visibility with increasing penetration were even better and after about 21 minutes on the scooter and after triggering the first durchtauchen deeper cave passage at 70m, the first stage switch to 55m in depth penetration of approximately 750m. After a full and empty TMX Stage at the line and hang it went further and now with only one stage a little faster gen deep shaft .... Ca.6 trigger for more minutes, he was now achieved. At the end of approximately 5m wide and up to 3m high corridor opened to us a huge room on the opposite side of a horizontally round leaching aufwiess. Among us on a slope Siphonartigen round opened a large ca 6-8m wide hole in which this impressive space further plunged into the depths. The line led through here in the depths, bringing our check to the fullest satisfaction of the Pushdive of Roland and Robin was completed. We made our recent exposure of these impressions on the way back on the incident without much, if one by one as if by magic dissolved Reel and briefly imposed a lamp aside. We reached the entrance shaft at 45m depth at TG minutes 73 and noted a 61 minute ground time for our decompression, in which everything ran smoothly and we then to 218 minutes total dive time with a satisfied smile the water left.

After the dive, the stages are empty and are beautiful in the water :-)

Dive Manu & Peter

As Deep Support Team 2, we had the task of the line to a depth of 100m to review and, where appropriate, to repair. Due to the heavy rainfall in the last time (there is an impressive picture of the water on www.plongeesout.com) we calculated only with linen fragments. But Tibor and Tobias had already done good and through our Rebreather we were not as strong in the time limit. So we were optimistic that the target could reach well.

Queue to pool party

Wildlife: A small problem, there were before the start: A family enjoys the idyllic Kreuzottern pool. Most of the snakes bask in a distant corner, so that divers and snakes do not actually meet. Only one was really interesting to our stages and had to be careful of Manu hand are relocated.

Fund unit: relay plate

Under the surface we could check on 6m fall, first sorted our equipment properly, made the necessary checks, and then we went down the slope to 45m at the respective depths, we parked the Dekoflaschen, and bend from the Cavernbereich in the socket . The visibility was good, in front of 15m in places, but some times only 10m. By changing impressions was the trip to the beautiful bay, the "scooter-restriction" did really fun. Overall we had a very relaxed way, as the sturdy clothesline was not torn, and only a few Snoopy loops were loose. The attempt to "leash" around rocks or protrusions to handle, works with the wire is not really good. The shaft itself was the highlight of the dive and as we well beaten at the time, we enjoyed the sight for some time. Then we sink a little deeper and parked one of our scooter on a rock at about 63m. It was something to what the tears in the eyes drives: These are indeed a blessed time the scooters have. In a column was a piece of PVC with washer relay it. As an old treasure hunter, we have the good part, and are not pushed it into the pocket.

Profile Manu and Peter

From the top of the pit, the view, so we are sure in the deep part of 20-25m visibility had! We followed, still without a patch to have the leash to the lowest point of the passage at 100m, stuck his arm into the dirt ;-), saw a few moments the room and made us on the journey home.

Manu and Peter by decompressing

The way back was similarly relaxed Reinweg as the time and we had the thoughts wander to something: We were both independently, as pleasant a disciplined and experienced team is: communication and voting procedures, it is such a dive, actually an "Easy - Dive: How long you in the angle of the eye sees that the lamp of the partner is calm, everything is fine. Complete the partners so that the front of the diver Hinteren some space on the leash and allows the continuation illuminates, the rear partner directly in front of a piece of rope lying illuminate. This makes a fast forward is possible and at the same time, you automatically always have the leash and the Rausweg referenced. The view from just under 50m depth up to the entrance area each time is simply breathtaking! We saw against Roland and Robin, as she prepared for your habitat. It came even Chris and Manuel geschwebt opposed to us from unnecessary equipment to be exempt. After about 300 minutes, we were then at the surface and enjoyed the sun.

Fire scars: This beautiful dive was unfortunately overshadowed by a negative event. Just when Manu's head out of the water, stretched out, she suddenly screamed and tore at the heater plug from the suit. As we saw later, was the connecting of the heating mat durchgeschmort completely and has a large fire behind the bladder. From our experience, we can only against the use of such mats for diving warn, even when they are advertised. Apparently they are the pressures of diving has not grown. There have been repeated, even within the Cavebase smaller thermal events with these mats, and actually, we're all on wires (eg, Kutu, Fa black) move, but Manu still has it caught hold. And that was the heaviest, what has happened so far: A large two-finger burn, most likely will need some time until it completely healed. Whether scars left behind, we must then see. But Manu was brave, has bitten the teeth together and the day still in beautiful reminder!

Push Dive (Roland & Robin)

TG duration : 862 min

bottom time: 360 min

Max. depth 100 m

The next morning at 6:30 we stood up and filled in the usual way before a long dive, our carbohydrate storage. Roland preferred this ravioli, Robin verspeist a plate of Macaroni with tomato sauce. We drank lots of water again, and apple juice spritzer and then gave it all, nor the mandatory Immodium tablet, because you want stools during the dive do not really have ...

Towards 7:30, we were then at the cave pool, was designed by Robin and Roland Manu Marc when creating the pool Doppelrebreather supported. Previously we have briefly checked out the Heizhemden, pluggten the stages with the Trimix 35/35 in the switch block of the primary sets and breathed the Scrubber few minutes. We adopted us from the team and finally appeared in this beautiful cave from.

Fred and Oli already waited in the cave in order to shoot some photos. The viewing conditions were not as good as last time, reaching about 15 m in front of the cave. In the past we still dive threw a brief glance at the ceiling fixed in the entrance area and on our habitat to 21 m with the stored Stages 50/25. At 36 m we moved from a 35/35 trimix Trimix15/60 what we are up to a depth of 75 m for the first 1000 m at an average of 60 m to use. The 35/35 did we, to 36 m on the line for the subsequent decompression back. In addition, each took about 3 further 80 cf Trimixstages with a 110 m gas in the form of a Trimix 12/75 and 2 each Suex Magnum ADV Scooter 42 to. Thus, we were now each with 4 x 80 cf Trimixstages and 2 Magnumscootern underway. This was followed again Backuprebreathers of the check and then it was even again.

We scooterten rapidly towards the slot and passed our 84 Ah Heizröhren as well as our 54 m Dekogase with Trimix 25/45. The illumination of the side profile, this was due to the somewhat poorer visibility conditions are not quite so simple and we distributed ourselves each a few meters to the left and right of the line, get a large area of the hall-like corridor auszuleuchten them. We followed the course profile and scooterten further into the cave and enjoyed ourselves to the course duration, the deeper part beyond the 1000 m mark even more impressive than the front part. After about 35 minutes on the trigger, we finally reached the area of the cave, where they made the 80 m area in a depth of approximately 105 m drops. The ground was not to recognize this and we looked at the ceiling right scooternd the leash in a large, mystical acting black hole. Absolutely Wonderful!
Our line, we are in October moved down the shaft was still intact and surprisingly, after the heavy winter rains, not torn. We deposited here at the head of the shaft to 78 meters each stage with the 75 m Trimix (15/60) and changed to the first of the three board 110 m Trimixstages (Trimix 12/75) and checked out our Backuprebreather again. Then the giant shaft scooterten quickly reached down and this time a little more water at a maximum depth of 100 m, the soil was approximately at 105 m. The last year we always patched the existing leash EKPP by Reinhard and Micha and our new line was moved here too surprising ways intact. Since we are on the course of the further course of the TG profile in the October 08 already knew, we came here rather quickly and stayed on the trigger of the scooters and positioned us as often as it went around the next best dimension Gang auszuleuchten.
The cave rises 100 meters after the agency returned to a depth of 80 m, followed by immediate composition at 95 m and then again rapidly to a depth of about 70 m upward again. Here we moved in about 50 minutes trigger time the scooter and went past the scooter as a backup. The speed profile of the cave falls again to about 92 m from. Here we scooterten about 10 min in 90 m area and watched us a few points of possible continuations of course, we at last had marked time. After increasing the profile of the cave again progressively increased from 90 m to 50 m at. We grin at us 90 meters on both cheeky, look with shining eyes upwards, and then each of us knows both what is now coming on the trigger and quickly as high! :-) I have to laugh every time when Roland is broken in Bavarian dialect and Trimix with distorted voice in the loops of his joys Rebreather ausruft as for instance: "Voll cool the hole!" And I will be with a small vocal inlay Hessischen acknowledge to The mood at the peak to date.
After the increase in the speed profile at 50 m, the first cave about 200 m in this depth range. After 95 min in the dive, we reach our mark October 08th I schmunzel because we have this time around 80 minutes faster at this point than last time and have the leash situation (career continued looking linen patch, re-lay) was a lot of time cost (see report in October 2008). Gas consumption was also significantly lower this time, so that we can now relax in our former endpoint could begin. Here was then the line is cracked, without a leash continuation was evident. I connected the reel to the Main Line and Roland scooterte ahead, shone the course profile, and looked to continue. We followed the course profile and course dimensions were now significantly lower than in the previous sections in the cave and amounted to approximately 4 x 5 m and partially low with only 2 x 3 m to briefly but then returned to the diameter to expand.
The Perlokation deteriorated in some places which are otherwise excellent visibility in the corridor significantly. In anticipation that the cave under the now well-known depth profile in the 90 m falls, however, we were amazed to note that we have some time in the 60-65 m range scooterten without the depth profile drops. The reel was in the meantime good half unravels and we had 250 meters new leash relocated. We exchanged in the meantime, the roles and Roland scooterte with the reel in his hand further into the cave and I scooterte ahead and lit the course profile, and looked at where it went further. It was clear to us that this course does not end with the line of Michael and Reinhard (EKPP), and still no man ever was before. Always a cool feeling confused to know that we are the first people were here :-)
There was, unfortunately, what had come: Roland signaled to me that the Reel abgespult, and we no longer have leash! What have we swear! Roland fixed at the end of the leash a sharp rock. I'm still about 100m further gescootert and reached a significant point where the course seems to share the course and you feel the cave would be right in the further course and fall back on the left side to grow. The passage history continues! Roland came to and was still swearing at us the line is expected. We had intentionally only a reel with 500 m line station because we could not guess that the cave and then another long hallway had. The first 500m was really only Reel to fix cracked and damaged liners thought.
It took nothing! We shook his head and turned around, changed earlier by the scooter and scooterten from the hallway into the known part of the Gourneyras. Now, we once again on the search for the line at the end of Michael and Reinhard and reached the 90 m area in the vicinity of the two Leinendes in minutes 220 in dive. Here the cave looked like a dead end, and formed a large Versturzhalle. Loose leash fragments were contrary to the way to the top. We exchanged our short and Roland emerges slowly, to look around, up into the 30-40 m range in the direction of the ceiling and looking for career continuations, while I'm at the bottom of the 90 m area also continued systematically scan speed and occasional rope knotting and flicker and still one of my spools Sacrifice, because the leash is too short to connect to me and about 20 m line is missing. When I'm finished, I want to Roland also up to me as this already comes from above and opposite signals, here go no further! I tell him the same and we turn around. Thus we extended the first attempt in this part of the cave so far from the end of EKPP documented in the cave Gourneyras to 485 m at a total moment about 2450 meters.
The end is the absence of line open. We come back!
On the way back, we exchanged the scooter again and reached 290 minutes after the TG stored in stages with the 75m gas at the head of the shaft about 1000 meters before starting. We moved here on the stage with the Trimix 15/60 and scooterten after some Deepstops finally in the direction of the output. Approximately 700 meters into the cave receipted my ears finally their service and the pressure was not me. The cave here is 60 m from the field briefly to 70 m and then in the 55-60 m range and continue to run half way you have at about 350 m again increased to 40 m and a further decrease of the depth profile at approximately 60m . I was in the ascent and descent beyond the 1000 m mark the pressure from 50 to 100 m depth a few times for people a little hesitant, but now I managed the pressure just does not work. Roland, I signaled my ear problem and positioned me well over 15 m of rope to the ceiling and pulled my leg Nasivinquetschfläschen from the pocket to the right and left me in the nose a few strokes Nasivin that, after I Rebreather of Open Circuit switched on. Roland was ever a comfortable stance and looked at the whole thing :-) Relaxed After 2-3 minutes succeeded the pressure and we continue scooterten from the cave.
After 360 minutes we finally reached our stages with a 54 m gas (25/45) and pluggten this in the switch block our rebreathers and dwelt here 5 minutes after the gas and our verräumten remaining stages. At 51 m we took our 84 Ah Heiztanks on and stuck them in the implementation of our suit Trockis and the heating switched On. From 39 m, we began with Gasbreaks with Trimix 15/60, to the lungs for subsequent decompression and in order to spare the Dekompressionsqualität increase. Sustained high Sauerstoffpartialdrücke lead to swelling of the interstiellen lung tissue and thus reduce the diffusion and gas exchange, which is a good decompression is required.
We extracted ourselves up and over the 36 m deco came forward Tibor and Peter already receive, and asked us if everything was okay and whether we need something. We write the two that we have a continuation of course have found 485 m line have re-routed, thirsty, and we like to have something to drink, the back hurts, but otherwise everything is okay and we are more the next time, definitely longer leash need! The two take the scooter and no longer needed Stages - what we already had the line geklippt - with up and make their way. We kept one Trimixstage for deeper Gasbreaks, we carried out on the Rebreather extracted with us and we continue upwards. We wrote Tibor Peter & the planned Dekoprocedere in the Wetnotes so that all parties can plan exactly when we arrive at what Dekostufe and when we want in the habitat and communicated with the Habitat crew about 15 minutes before the end of the 12m stop arrives. On the decoration then we decided to stop 15 meters by about 20% and the 12 m stop about 1 / 3 of the originally planned Dekozeit shorter.

On the decoration at 15 m, here you can still see the beautiful Heiztank with 84 AH (which is not empty as soon :-))

At 12 meters arrived. Above you can see the habitat within arm nähe ;-))

In between came Tibor Fred and occasionally over and checked us. 15 minutes before the end of the 12m Dekostufe met the Habitat crew, and prepared everything before. At 660 minutes, we were then included in the habitat to 9.5 m and led to enter the habitat stored on Trimix 17/55 before a 15 min continuing Gasbreak through. Robin was the first this time off and climbed into the habitat after him by Tobi Z., Manu S., and Marc from the Doppelrebreather helped, and the weight belt was created. Tim was a backup diver abgeklippter with long trousers in readiness. Roland came next turn. It went like clockwork this time and after not even 5 minutes we both sat in the habitat. Geiles and perfectly coordinated team!

As we both sat in the habitat, we ended the first Gasbreak and moved to the O2. Gasbreaks were now in the habitat in the ratio 12:8 (O2: Breakgas). We destroyed the habitat then a 300 g slab Milka Chocolate (thanks Tim!), Tuna with corn and applesauce and plenty of liquid. The next time there's definitely something warm to eat! We stayed for 180 min in the habitat and the TG discussed and settled all over again reviewed. Now and again we exchanged in the Wetnotes with the other outside, and agreed a time to leave the habitat.

Outside it is waiting. Whether because Peter is tired already? :-)

Support Team from reappearing for help from the Habitat

Before leaving the habitat, we have a 15 minutes lasting Gasbreak on Trimix and left one after another, first Robin, then with the help of Roland S. Manu, Marc, Oli, Tim and Fred (I forget someone?) the habitat and emerged after a slow ascent, escorted by one diver in the pool for minutes at 862.

Behold, a few hours after they are already there. Manuel F. helpful since Roland, Tibor stands at Robin

It was once again in the middle of the night. Hardly, we were up and had the sets on the tables off pensioners, the disposed Habittcrew habitat already out of the cave and swam in the pool. In addition, the cave was still fast by the remaining stages and other equipment gecleant and the cave was so unaffected as before. We had our pre-planning this time with a delay of 1 hour shorter decompression time of approximately 8 hours and have planned in the end our fundamental period from the last time around 1 hr and the decompression extended for shortened to 1 hr. We are back from a Vollsättigungsprofil assumed.

Thanks to everyone involved for their support! You were all class, respect and recognition!

-----

From a newbies
After I had the chance, with the Cavebase for a project at the Gourneyras participate, was my destination for the July 2009, France here I come. Robin was so nice to me and my still fairly sparse equipment in his bus with you. On the night of 8 on 9.06.2009 was going on. During the 10stündigen good trip, I had plenty of time regarding the poor guy cave diving, and what I expect will auszuquetschen:) Thanks again! But what was certainly worse than my curiosity, was the question whether the weather holds and the project can start? (as it turned out Peter said it well with us)
Day 1
Hardly arrived at the destination, I knew it was the right decision to go with. The view is overwhelming! After the rest of the team had arrived, it went straight to the point. We wanted the rest of the day still use the cable car to build and test. Since the breakdown of who should do what, for quite some time it was, could begin immediately. A few scratches, abrasions and mosquito bites later, also joined the Habitat its journey towards cave pool. The vast amount of equipment could guess what we expected the next day.
Day 2
After a brief refreshment Vis in the cold, it was already going on. I thought to myself that there would be strenuous, have all but underestimated. But must be mentioned here that the excellent cooperation and organization trouble free all expired "was praised MENSCHEKETT":) and fun to the whole, not a second too soon came! "Muzzle hold bottles bear!")

Some equipment is already in the pool

The pool from above Photos

After all equipment at the pool was, it was time to put the habitat. Robin, Oli, Tibor and I took ourselves to the task. After slight initial difficulties (the habitat was probably a little different as the last), was an ideal job and the drying chamber for the guys set. About my gas (Ean 32) during this action, I would have preferred not to speak:) To the remaining time to use the same habitat with the necessary oxygen and gases Break equipped.

When you put the habitat

That was all after the work is done from

Day 3
Today dives by Tobi and Tibor, Manu and Tim and Peter and Marc planned. The goal was brilliant dives the next patch a leash if necessary. Chris, Robin and I were still a lot of equipment like scooters, BMX stages, Heiztanks for Pushdive the next day in the cave. In addition, Chris and I and Peter Manu Deco during their somewhat supports them and the scooter and the empty stages decreased.
Day 4
Pushdive! When Roland and Robin were abgetaucht, the remaining team simply decided to no longer be required equipment on the cable car back up to create. Said done! Now, it was still enough time for Tobi and Tibor, Manu and Oli and Tim, Chris, Marc and me, yet comfortable to go diving.

Oli with RB80

At this point, once again many thanks to Tim for the guiding. As the gases we have o2, ean 50 and a BM and D12 with Stage 18/45 used. After the dives was the cable car again angeworfen. Now, Tibor and Peter appeared for the first check, but by Roland and Robin there was still no trace. Now came the tough part of the day, wait and wait ... ... ... ... ... .. even after the boys returned successfully and were hung in the decoration, the wait went on:)

Wait until the guys come a sign ;-) (why not actually laugh?)

Vs. 22 clock helped Manu, Oli, Marc, Tibor and Tobi, Roland and Robin at the entry to the habitat. Now another 3 h and we will know what the two have achieved. Tibor and I packed into the chic trousers expected Watt to 1 clock the boys retired to their tables to sit at the twin-sets to support it.

Exhausted, happy, happy and successful, we all went back to the camp.

Beim Futtern :-)

5th days
Nothing exciting to tell the whole Geraffel had to hold up again:)
Day 6
Home ... ... ... ....: (In general, I would like to again thank the whole team! I have from the first minute welcome and felt totally integrated. Taff Despite the organization and partly high effort came up a short, the fun of diving I might almost say, that each fully arrived at his own expense and no one really had to put back. This was very much valued, without sight of the goal to lose!
Gruß Manu F.
