CAVEBASE & FRIENDS Meeting 14 Sept. 2019
This year our Cavebase & Friends meeting took place at the Felicitas mine at Wolfgang Röhr. Early in the morning our board started with a little welcome speech. Afterwards great dives could be done in the mine and exciting conversations could be held. Around 11 am the first presentation of the day started. Oliver Steinle presented the T-Reb sidemount rebreather. Afterwards, we were able to gather some strength while enjoying delicacies from the grill. In the second presentation of the day, Axel Söhngen introduced the Divesoft Liberty in both backmount and sidemount versions. The technical presentations were rounded off by 2 self-built projects by Hannes Danmayr and Moritz Lutz. Both built sidemount rebreathers in the old do-it-yourself manner and explained the ideas behind them.
Of course we also presented our configuration and explained why we dive like this.
In the evening there was a little premiere. Wilke made a great movie out of our footage from this year's Castor project. After a short talk about the project this video was presented afterwards.
Afterwards our Wilke had the last lecture of the evening. This lecture was very thought-provoking and held the audience in its spell.
The day was rounded off with a cozy get-together, some barbecue and a beer or two.
