Cavebase & Friends Meeting 2015
After the successful Cavebase & Friends meeting last year, the decision was quickly made to repeat the meeting this year.
Daily program
In beautiful sunshine we met at the Starnberger See in front of an official mountain panorama. Some known and unknown faces passed by during the day for a short hello or a longer "sit in". The golden seahorse was earned by Ivo, who came all the way from Prague to sit with us. Besides chatting about the past year, there were many exciting discussions about lamps, battery tanks, scooters and rebreathers. Tom Bub had signed up and came with a couple of Thor's in his luggage. So there was the possibility to see the lamp head developed by him live and in color, to test it on the surface as well as underwater and to discuss open questions directly with Tom. Since the Bare dry suit developed in cooperation with Cavebase is now on the market, there was the opportunity to combine the lamp test with a dry suit test. In addition to the divers, some ventured into the lake with only swimming trunks and were quickly able to determine that the lake is already preparing for winter and is again in the cooling phase...
Evening program
When the sun disappeared behind the Alps, the Cavebase & Friends meeting was moved to the 3 Rosen in Bernried, where there was an exciting lecture on the activities of the last year, accompanied by Bavarian delicacies. Afterwards there was the preview of the film of our Slovenia expedition. By popular request Florian showed in a small encore how we plan the projects in advance and how we organize the projects on site.
Besides the presentations, the evening was characterized by many other discussions around and about diving. At a late hour the last guests slowly but surely said goodbye.
We are happy that we could spend a great day with you and hopefully share our enthusiasm for the great underwater world with you. Thank you for stopping by, openly discussing and gossiping with us and we hope to see you all again next year.
