Since some time had passed since the last meeting of the team, the Cavebase met from November 7 - 9 at Lake Starnberg. To the meeting we had also invited some interested people to get to know each other and to go diving together.

Already on Friday evening the team arrived at the common accommodation and during a hearty meal and tasting of typical local drinks the two following days were discussed. Among other things it was about the common dive on Saturday as well as the support of the Cavebase-Friends. At the end we turned off the light in the restaurant, because the hostess had already disappeared to bed.

On Saturday morning we were still before the landlady in the guest room, which caused some astonishment with her. After a hearty breakfast, we arrived at the dive site at 9 a.m., with the "newcomers" we had an appointment at half past nine. As it is an old tradition with us, first of all there was a lot of gossip. After we had coordinated the dive plans for everyone, we went into the water. The main focus was on the one hand to coordinate 5 budy teams in such a way that the common goal could be reached. In addition, Carsten and Markus were taken in tow on the scooter, since the two were without a propeller servant: It is simply amazing how well towing goes when everything fits. The scooters, which had to tow two divers, were of course a bit slower due to the higher load (front D20 on the rebi as well as 3 stages, rear D20 with four stages), but otherwise the double teams also got to the meeting point under water without any problems.

From the meeting point Tobias took over the navigation to the wreck as a local guide. Back at the wall, the teams separated and the teams continued diving individually, depending on the gas supply (there was again a large number of Rebis at the start, but there were also open diving teams), so that everyone got their money's worth.

Our "chick" master Jo(d)a was taken under the wing by Tim: He instructed her in Multiple Stage Scooter Diving. After the diving is before the diving, and so it came as it had to come: After the diving there was again a lot of gossiping, and so the sun was already setting when we left the dive site. Due to a road closure after an accident we could not go to the restaurant we had planned for this evening, so we had dinner at our accommodation again. This time a not insignificant amount of desserts was nibbled. One thing is clear: If we meet more often in Bavaria, we need new dryies... ? During and after the meal, the experiences of the day were evaluated and new plans were made. On Sunday morning we had breakfast even earlier than on Saturday in order to check out on time and to get the last parking spaces at the dive site shortly after 9 am. Since we all had to drive home in the evening, we went into the water a bit faster.

Today we all took it a bit easier and our offer of "coaching" was gladly accepted. On the plan were scooter briefing and experience gathering as well as basics training in shallow water. We see such basics as the basis for safe and relaxed cave diving, and are therefore happy to pass on our experience. Afterwards we packed up our seven things and went for a coffee to the Manthal. The landlady was so happy to see us again that she kicked out some of the guests! Actually, this made us a little uncomfortable, but what could we do?

Again, a team meeting went by way too fast and all participants got their money's worth. We were happy to meet some new faces. And who knows, maybe our group will grow even more? In any case, new meetings and projects are already in the active planning phase...

In this sense,

Your Cavebase
