Every year again ... the Boot trade fair calls to Düsseldorf.
With equally repetitive certainty, Bare/Atomic Aquatics granted us shelter at their booth.
We were thrilled again by the many news about scooters, lamps and rebreathers as well as we could meet old and new friends & acquaintances.

Techsymposium 2015
In 2015 we were again invited to the Cloth Symposium as speakers. This year Florian Hang and Heinke Teichmann presented our projects of the last two years. Our presentation lasted about 45min. and was decorated with rich impressions from the projects. To get a better picture of our presentation, you can download it here. As in the years before, we found the Techsymposium to be almost perfectly organized, the talks were extremely good throughout, the audience very, very attentive and there was definitely no boredom. Really a very successful event! We would like to take this opportunity to thank Frank Olbert, Eric Simgen and the entire TDN team for the successful event.
For us as Cavebase there was another important event at the same time. This weekend we were able to receive our much longed for Thor lampheads. Tom Bub had already given us the pleasure the evening before and handed over 10 lamp heads, as ordered. A real highlight for us, because the lamp is after almost 2 years of hard development finally ready to fit our needs perfectly. We were all extremely happy.

Liberty diving
Team: Tobi, Ivo, Wilke und Flo
The Liberty CCR - we had already heard a lot about it. Today was time to get hands-on. Tobi, Ivo, Wilke and Flo made their way to the Czech Republic.
There Divesoft gave us the opportunity to look behind the scenes in production as well as to dive the Liberty CCR in its current configuration. We were impressed by the simplicity of diving the unit and its technical innovations compared to the competition. Don't miss the clip we shot in this context.
Horst Dederichs and Tom Jaspers gave us the opportunity to test dive the SF2 eCCR there on March 18 and an introduction to the technology and operation of the equipment. The Dive4Life has a 18m deep dive tower integrated into a hotel, a beautiful and well maintained facility that was ideal for our day.
Dive4Life
Horst Dederichs and Tom Jaspers brought us two ready-to-dive backmounts and one sidemount. First we were allowed to disassemble an eCCR and look at it in detail. Horst and Tom explained us with a lot of leisure and supported by anecdotes, how the design of the SF2 came about and which considerations and practical experiences are behind it, how it was further developed and how it came to the detailed solutions. It was good to understand that there was an evolutionary development behind it, which was implemented in a very practical way. Personally, the SF2 seems to me to have been designed more by divers than by engineers, which I don't see as a weak point at all. After a short introduction of the Shearwater Petrel we were allowed to dive the units in the afternoon. At the latest now the constructive closeness to the well known pSCR became obvious; the diving characteristics are very similar and so we could fully concentrate on trying out the Shut Offs, Manual Adds and the computer.
It was a very successful, highly informative day; the Dive4Life was an ideal location. Horst Dederichs and Tom Jaspers showed us the advantages of the SF2 in a very dedicated and friendly way. Many thanks! It was 100% fun.

Fun and relaxation in France
A few of us headed to the European cave paradise in August to do some leisurely cave dives and enjoy the French "joie de vivre".
Within ten days, the well-known French caves in the Lot were dived and a few lesser known caves were surveyed.
Thereby we had the opportunity to test the Thor lamp head again in detail and to bring back to Germany last small suggestions for improvement.
